Hey, Mike - just keeping an eye on you!
Looks like an automated image starting with the 'self portrait'- the Caper Shape, some neg space fill ins and moving to the Chinese Dragron and finally to the top. Cliches are troublesome (cross and power radiants)- titles can often sufficiently unscore the narrative if required.

Best Regards
Ed

Hey Ed! Thanks for dropping by. I'm sorry about being so slow to get back.

I think this sketch grew out of a grasping for inspiration. It is true that I drew in a kind of automatic state, absorbing whatever was around me at the time. Cliches are troublesome to be as well, but I also find a humor in using them. I obseve so many everyday, popular culture is riddled with cliches, so I often use my sketchbook to try and digest my invlovement in popular culture.
This still does not really justify my drawing, or make it work. I do however find it useful to allow myself to fail, but it only serves a purpose when I am aware of the failure and sucesses. I supose even when drawing in an automatic way, it is very important to return to the drawing and be aware of any shortcomings or success.
Thanks for the taking the time to stop by Ed.
